My name is Abigail, welcome to my "Paige." I am excited to share my life with you. The name of my blog, The Vegan Wanderess, pays tribute to two things I am so passionate about in life, that I proudly let them define me, veganism and travel.
I chose Wanderess instead of Wanderer because I want to display how owning ones femininity and womanhood is powerful.
"She was free in her wildness. She was a wanderess, a drop of free water. She belonged to no man and to no city." (-Roman Payne, "The Wanderess")
I get my enthusiasm for adventure from my parents. Ever since I was little they made it a priority to put away enough money to go on one family trip every year. The trip that really ignited a fire inside of me was a tour we took of Spain and Portugal when I was in 6th grade. On the trip we took a ferry over to Morocco for the day. Upon seeing the streets lined beautiful handmade Persian rugs, colorful frocks of clothing, and local spices, I realized that the world had so much more to offer me than the small town I was growing up in.
There are so many experiences I have yet to discover. There are so many cultures I want to immerse myself in and so many memories to be captured and lessons to be learned along the way.
One of my greatest lessons came in college, when I made the decision to stop eating meat. The lesson was that in order to achieve happiness, your mentality and reality have to align. My ultimate decision to go vegan helped me align my actions with my beliefs in so many ways.
My current goal is to live my life as ethically as possible. Animals and the environment should not suffer for my luxuries. Conscious living is on the rise and it is extremely important that we all take accountability for our actions for the sake of our environment. If you want to read more about why I chose veganism you should take a look at this blogpost!
My goal on this site is to share my life with you. I want to offer genuine advice and share my passions and story with the world. I can proudly say that veganism and travel are two things that will be a part of my life forever and I love to share my insights with my readers.
My professional goals are to travel and to share my life journey by breaking into the community of digital nomads. My hope is that one day my online endeavors will become profitable. I've visited twelve countries and eighteen states and don't plan on slowing down any time soon. Throughout my life I always made an effort to travel on school breaks and summers. Now that I am a graduate, I have created lifestyle out of traveling full-time.
Aside from blogging, I am currently diving into the travel industry through an internship in San José, Costa Rica. Through my position at Global Leadership Adventures, I sell service based cross-cultural learning experiences for high school students. I have been really enjoying living abroad here in Costa Rica and I am already dreaming up my next adventure! Come join me on this amazing journey of life.
Wander often & wonder always,
